The regular Bangor School Committee meeting on October 15, 2026, included an update from Building Infrastructure Management Solutions (BIMS), selected through a competitive RFP with 10 respondents to update the district’s strategic facilities master plan. BIMS has begun assessing school roofs and buildings and reviewing utility-use and indoor-air-quality data. Its work covers potential ventilation, heating and cooling, lighting, electrical, roofing, building-envelope, energy-efficiency, and operational improvements. The team expects to identify urgent projects for possible 2027 construction by January 2027, then provide ranked longer-term priorities and estimated costs by building in February 2027. No specific project budgets or contract amount were stated, and the committee took no procurement vote during the presentation.

The committee voted 7 in favor of accepting the first reading of the public portion of the comprehensive emergency management plan. Other discussion included strategic planning, student mentoring, interschool waiver requests, and school “hold” data; members asked for further analysis of waiver and hold patterns and related student and staff needs. No additional procurement activity was identified.
