The City of Ashland Recreation Division Advisory Committee (RDAC) regular meeting on October 15, 2026, covered recreation partnerships, facilities, upcoming projects, and committee priorities. Staff reported that East Main Park is being prepared for construction, with contractor Outlier on site, and that Hunter Court resurfacing is nearing completion. A separate donor-funded project is awaiting legal review of its donation agreement, with work hoped to begin after the ice rink closes. For the Daniel Meyer Pool, staff said a specialized consultant is viewed as the best way to develop a pump-system solution; staff plan to seek capital improvement budget approval, with work potentially starting after the 2027 swim season. A consultant has also completed sound measurements at Lithia Park’s pickleball courts and is expected to provide analysis of mitigation options. No contract amounts or new contract awards were reported.

Members discussed a City Council vote scheduled for October 20 on whether to extend the parks fee, which is due to sunset June 30; the fee’s potential effect on parks and the city general fund was noted, but RDAC took no vote. The committee also discussed Rockefair’s partnership with Parks and Recreation, including arts programming and adaptive events, as well as committee recruitment, its responsibilities, and meeting frequency. No RDAC procurement vote or spending action was identified.
