At the October 27, 2026, Brevard Public Schools board meeting, the board recognized the district’s procurement department for receiving the National Procurement Institute’s 2026 Achievement of Excellence in Procurement award for the second consecutive year and the sixth time in its history. The board approved an amended agenda that removed several items, including a standard contract, the 2027 health insurance plan and related collective bargaining agreement, and renewal of a post-exposure nurse hotline; no contract or purchasing decision on those items was made. The board also approved travel to the FSBA/FADSS joint conference. No contract amounts or vendors were identified.

The superintendent reported that the district had completed inspections of more than 3,000 classroom Promethean boards following a fatal incident and had retained outside counsel for an independent investigation; no cost or firm was stated. During public comment, a speaker proposed an e-bike safety program and said FDOT’s Safe Routes to School program could fund it, but the board took no action. Other business included proclamations and recognitions, public comments, and board-member reports.
