At its October 19, 2026 meeting, the Columbus City Council approved the consent agenda in one motion, including property relocation assistance payments associated with the 8th Street/12th Avenue intersection improvement project (CIP 25-35). The transcript lists payments of $1,100, $27,200, and $67,382.48. The Council also approved a $150,456 purchase of three police patrol vehicles from Anderson Auto Group through the state purchasing program, and accepted Electric Pump’s $120,000 quote for a submersible pump for the wastewater treatment plant (CIP 27-49). Staff said the prior pump had installation and warranty problems and was discontinued by its vendor; the city has used the proposed pump type elsewhere and may purchase three more over the next three years if it performs well.
The Council received an update that bridge work was nearing completion, with a traffic switch anticipated in the second or third week of November; no new bridge contract award was discussed. Members also reviewed how food trucks are regulated: state agencies oversee food safety and related requirements, while city park rentals require documentation and carry vendor fees of $20 per day or $75 per week. No change to the food-truck rules was adopted. A special designated liquor license application was approved; no amount was stated.
