The Bulloch County Board of Commissioners meeting was held October 20, 2026. The board unanimously approved the consent agenda, including several purchasing and service items: a $15,112.32 culvert payment to Cherokee Culvert; $41,816 for Yancey to install reverse fans on motor graders; a $25,740 911 recorder upgrade from Quality Recording Solutions; a Motorola Solutions E911 software agreement for $132,884.56; a $42,140.17 EMS equipment maintenance contract; and a $132,343.20 change order with Sykes Brothers for additional drainage, guardrail, signage, and related work on Two Chop Road. The consent agenda also included a Fire Station 16 site-plan services item capped at $71,500 and right-of-way acquisition task orders. Task order FY27RE03 with Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson for $310,250 was separately pulled from consent and approved unanimously; task order FY27RE04 was also approved unanimously, but its amount was not clear in the transcript. The board additionally approved a $30,000 contract with Remediation Resources for crushing up to 2,000 tons of concrete, with additional tonnage priced at $14.50 per ton; the resulting crushed material will be retained for county use.

The county reported that a fire engine approved in the current budget had arrived and was being equipped, with another expected in spring. Staff said bids for project 119 came in over budget, prompting a redesign. The board took no action on the Moore, Lee, and J. Hart Road right-of-way and scope options; staff will return with an executive summary at the November 3 meeting. The discussion included potential project costs and condemnation needs, but no related spending approval was made. The meeting also included a Domestic Violence Awareness Month proclamation and a citizen’s request for improved school-bus stop signage on Highway 80; the chair referred the signage concern to the county engineer and public information officer.
