CCSD BOE Work Session Meeting on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at CES at 7:00 pm

The Cornwall School District Board of Education held a work session on September 8, 2026. The Facilities Committee reviewed three plans for the high school concession stand/broom area and selected one to advance for pricing with Tetra Tech and construction manager Triton. This was a design/pricing step; no construction contract or vendor award was approved. The board also approved consent agenda items 13–18, covering reserve funding: approximately $725,000 for Capital Reserve No. 3 for future project considerations, about $100,000 for the unemployment reserve, and funding for a new liability reserve to address employee flexible-spending claims and other potential liabilities, estimated at approximately $175,000. The discussion also covered replenishing ERS and TRS pension reserves and adding $200,000 to each; these reserves are intended to help manage future rate fluctuations and liabilities.

The board received an update on student technology practices, including Chromebook access, online learning tools, data privacy agreements, and limits on student AI use; no related purchase or contract award was reported. It also discussed and adopted the superintendent’s and board’s 2026–27 goals, aligned with the district strategic plan. No other procurement awards were identified.
