At the October 19, 2026 Williamson County Board of Education meeting, the board approved a $100,000 transfer from budgeted superintendent and assistant superintendent payroll funds to contracted services for the superintendent search. The chair was authorized to coordinate community engagement with district staff and Zeal Education Group; the firm’s contract was still being finalized, and any travel expenses would be handled separately. The board also approved a federal grant supporting part of a teacher position and three work-based-learning supports; no grant amount was stated. These actions, along with the other recorded agenda votes, passed unanimously (12–0 where roll-call results were given).
The board approved an intent to fund of $87 million for the Split Log middle school, enabling initial planning for a future school in response to projected growth and overcrowding. Staff said education impact-fee reserves could cover a large portion of the project, but the county commission would determine the funding source. The board also approved a capital-fund rebate resolution for $1,577,665.62. Other business included approval of the superintendent-search confidential process, annual accountability and compliance reports, a 2027–28 rezoning change for Stevens Valley, and consent items that included work-based-learning and superintendent-selection policies and field-trip fee requests.
