Tahoe Truckee Airport District (TTAD) FY2027 budget workshop, October 16, 2026: Staff reviewed revisions for a final budget planned for board consideration October 21. The draft includes a $5 million property-sale revenue estimate; directors emphasized that the proceeds represent conversion of a long-held asset, not recurring operating income, and confirmed they should remain designated as landside funds in an interest-bearing account. The budget also includes placeholders for $70,000 in general manager recruitment, $10,000 in interview travel, $20,000 in relocation costs, $47,000 for a possible two-month management overlap, $40,000 for a wage-range study, and $100,000 for a noise-monitoring system. The $9,300 annual air-traffic-control “shout line” was also discussed.
On capital spending, directors favored deferring the approximately $2.2–$2.5 million A4 apron mill-and-fill project until FAA funding can be considered, while retaining about $80,000 for crack sealing and pavement preservation; staff will revise the budget accordingly. The draft assumes no FAA funds for FY2027. The board reached consensus on a $1,000 monthly employee working-environment stipend and increasing the annual fitness/uniform allowance to $1,500 per employee, with the allowance broadened to eligible uses; these are budget directions, not final budget approval. Directors discussed community-benefit uses of the land-sale proceeds and indicated consensus support for fire and library initiatives, while other proposals remained unsettled. Staff will circulate an updated draft before the October 21 approval meeting; no final budget vote occurred at this workshop.
