The Centennial School District Operations Committee met on October 16, 2026. Members approved the agenda and the September 11 meeting minutes. On facilities procurement, the committee discussed a Log College chiller failure: a repair may cost nearly $200,000, while full replacement was estimated at about $380,000. The district was awaiting a repair quote before deciding, with insurance expected to cover most of the cost subject to a deductible. Members also discussed the district’s engineer-of-record arrangement and bid procedures. Staff will prepare a recommendation to appoint Gilmore Associates as engineer of record for the next board meeting; no appointment or project award was made at this meeting. The committee reviewed the need for clear application of Pennsylvania bidding thresholds and how bids and recommendations are brought to the board for approval.
An approximately $15,000 replacement server was presented, with some proceeds from the sale of old technology equipment intended to help fund it. Members asked staff to clarify the full cost, including ongoing maintenance, for budget forecasting. The capital plan was reported as unchanged. Other facilities topics included potential high-school auditorium audio needs, possible classroom conversions or broader renovations at middle schools, and longer-term district and MBIT capacity planning, including potential bond financing; these were exploratory discussions, not approvals. The committee also reviewed facility-use fee reductions, including $3,185 for 12 Warminster Symphony dates. No procurement-related votes or contract awards were recorded.
