The Governing Board of CCUSD93 held a virtual special meeting on October 16, 2026, with a monthly financial and facilities update. The district reported that the School Facilities Division (SFD) approved its first five-year preventative-maintenance plan, and that a contract had been signed for inspections and servicing of HVAC equipment at schools, the district office, and the fine arts center. The district also reported plans to replace a leaking, approximately 40-year-old fuel tank and to install a new roof and evaporative coolers at the bus barn; the tank work had been rescheduled because the replacement tank was not ready. A four-year agreement with East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) had been signed, and negotiations were underway to acquire two vans for EVIT trips. No procurement-related vote or contract award was recorded during the meeting.

The financial update noted that about $760,000 in district capital funds was being directed to fire-related costs, with additional reimbursement from a trust still pending; the district is responsible for 27% of the total fire costs. The presenter also identified approximately $200,000 in anticipated chiller costs tied to prior SFD funding issues. Board members requested a copy of the district’s 30-year solar-panel agreement after the presenter described it as financially unfavorable; renegotiation was considered unlikely. The board also discussed declining enrollment, budget and fund balances, and increased meal prices. The agenda was approved by motion, but no spending action was taken.
