NMRSD Finance Subcommittee 10/16/2026

The North Middlesex Regional School District Finance Subcommittee met on October 16, 2026, to review FY26 closeout and FY27 budget monitoring. The district reported approximately $390,000 in purchase orders encumbered before June 30 that needed to carry into the next fiscal year. Preliminary year-end E&D was about $4.1 million, roughly $364,000 higher than the prior year. Procurement-related discussion included a two-year natural-gas agreement at approximately the district’s existing rate and a roughly 7.7% increase in the D buses transportation contract, estimated at about $190,000; approximately $176,999 in transportation reimbursement is restricted to offsetting next year’s transportation costs. The committee also discussed unused school checking accounts and possible account consolidation, which was expected to come before the full committee the following week. No procurement award or spending motion was approved at this meeting; the motions concerned approval of prior minutes and adjournment. Members also agreed that budget-spending snapshots could be published as dated, static files rather than live Google documents, with cybersecurity and public-access considerations noted.
