The Knoxville Historic Zoning Commission meeting on October 15, 2026, heard no business from the Knox County commission. The city commission reviewed routine Level 1 certificates of appropriateness for siding and roof repairs, a rear stair/deck, door trim, and other residential work. No procurement, contract awards, vendor selections, or spending actions were identified.

The commission denied, 5–1, the request for a new circular driveway at 720 Scenic Drive, finding the application did not justify an exception to the design guidelines. It approved an after-the-fact change to a stucco-clad chimney at 1618 Clinch Avenue and a rear dormer addition at 305 East Scott Avenue. At 210 Leonard Place, it adopted staff’s recommendation to deny demolition of a visible rear chimney and approve its repair or reconstruction. In a nonbinding workshop on a proposed addition and duplex conversion at 1636 Forest Avenue, commissioners offered design feedback, including distinguishing the addition from the original house and supporting a metal roof on the shallow-roof section.
