The Barnstable Zoning Board of Appeals held a public hearing on October 14, 2026. The board approved the minutes of July 22, 2026, and continued appeal 2026-021 to November 18 at the applicant’s request because only four board members were present. The board unanimously granted Jennifer A. Crowley’s special permit (2026-022) to replace an existing home on a nonconforming lot with a modular single-family dwelling and new septic system, subject to conditions including limits on further development and recording the decision. It also unanimously granted variance 2026-023 to reestablish previously merged lot lines, allowing a vacant residential lot to be developed, subject to the conditions in the staff report.

The applicant for appeal 2026-025, concerning AT&T antenna modifications, had submitted a request to withdraw; no substantive hearing was held. The board unanimously granted the Town of Barnstable’s special permit (2026-044) to increase the maximum occupancy of housing for AmeriCorps volunteers to six people, with conditions including successful Title 5 approval. The board also addressed correspondence and the proposed 2027 hearing schedule. No procurement, contracting, or spending activity was identified.
