The Pocatello Planning and Zoning Commission met on October 14, 2026. It unanimously approved the September 9 meeting minutes and held a public hearing on North Bannock Fire District’s request to annex approximately 2.35 acres at 9200 North Anderson Lane and assign it Residential Low Density zoning. Staff said the request was consistent with the comprehensive plan and applicable city code. A resident opposed the request, citing a lease, a claimed purchase option, and disputed property markers; city staff said ownership records identify the Fire District as the owner and characterized the related contract and boundary issues as civil matters. The commission voted unanimously to recommend approval and authorize the chair to sign the findings and recommendation for City Council. No procurement, contract award, or spending decision was identified.

The commission also voted 4–1 to move clarification meetings to 5:30 p.m. and regular meetings to 6:00 p.m. for the remainder of 2026 and going forward.
