At the October 15, 2026 Bristol Township Council meeting, council approved a Bucks County Consortium salt bid award to Silvi Riverside Construction at $75 per delivered ton. Because of last year’s salt shortage, each municipality will enter an individual contract; the township explained that the contract will allow it to obtain salt elsewhere and seek reimbursement for costs above the bid price if supply is unavailable. Council also approved voucher lists and requisitions totaling $4,279,878.16. The township manager reported that a federally funded Haines Road bridge project is in the study and engineering phase: the concept is a new four-lane commercial bridge over Amtrak, potentially replacing the Randall Avenue bridge, but no construction contract or award was considered.
A consultant presented an updated five-year financial projection and analysis of increasing the earned income tax from 0.5% to 1% to address projected operating deficits and potentially adjust real-estate-tax millage; council took no vote on the proposed tax increase. Other business included approval of ordinance amendments concerning red-light camera notices and cannabinoid sales, and reaffirmation of the Ralph Fiaco Memorial Park dedication. The police chief also reviewed red-light camera results, noting that citations require officer review and that the program’s proceeds go to PennDOT. No other procurement awards were identified.
