The City of Worcester Historical Commission met on October 15, 2026. The commission approved certificates of appropriateness for signage and storefront changes at 244 Pleasant Street, a mural at 235 Pleasant Street, and matching roof-shingle replacement at 24 Crown Street; each approval passed unanimously. The commission also approved withdrawal without prejudice of the 49 William Street item. No contract awards, vendor selections, purchases, or specific spending approvals were identified.

The commission designated Worcester’s assessor records through 1976 as locally historically significant. City staff said the records need preservation remediation and improved storage before digitization, and that the designation would allow the city to apply for Community Preservation Act funding; no funding was approved at this meeting. The commission accepted the FY2025 CLG annual report and approved the October 1, 2026 meeting minutes. It made no comments on the invited housing projects at 41 Terrell Street and 55 Pilgrim Avenue.
