The City of Springdale Airport Commission met on October 15, 2026. Procurement and capital-project discussions centered on the fuel farm expansion, Hangar 21, and the Taxiway A relocation. The commission had previously expressed support for the fuel farm project, and staff plans to submit a state grant application by the end of October; the application result is expected before the November meeting. Staff intends to bring an engineering contract for commission review in November so the project can advance promptly. Hangar 21 design is underway, with planning review and preparation of bid documents expected to begin. For the Taxiway A relocation, described as a roughly $10 million project, an engineering contract is planned for the November meeting along with FAA scope approval and an independent fee estimate; the relocation is about 50 feet to meet FAA separation requirements. Staff will also examine whether ramp parking improvements can be included, though FAA funding for an apron expansion may be uncertain. No new award or project-contract approval was recorded in the meeting.

The commission discussed a $5,015.33 invoice for replacement airfield lights and a $4,452.99 purchase of fuel-farm fire extinguishers; responsibility for the extinguisher cost remained unresolved. Commissioners favored advance notification of expenses over $2,000 for oversight, rather than requiring prior approval. The city has historically cash-flowed airport grant projects until grant reimbursements arrive. Other operational updates included insurance repairs and a no-additional-cost ceiling repair by the insurance contractor, fuel sales and activity, and a possible November review and vote on updated airport leases. The commission also discussed traffic management for the Halloween event; no related spending decision was reported.
