The County of Ventura Planning Commission hearing on October 15, 2026, considered two land-use matters. The commission approved the variance for Villanova Preparatory School (case PL26-000010), allowing four signs at its unincorporated Ojai-area property. It also unanimously denied Caltrans’ appeal of a notice of violation concerning pedestrian hybrid beacons at Yerba Buena Road and Pacific Coast Highway. The commission found the approximately 35-foot structures, including added luminaires, exceeded the 23–25-foot height authorized by the coastal development permit. No contracts, vendor awards, or purchasing actions were identified.

In updates, staff said the energy roadmap ordinance amendments, covering topics including battery storage and EV charging, were continued to November 17, 2026, for additional engagement with industry stakeholders. Staff also reported completion of a regional farmworker-housing analysis supported by county, city, and grant funding. These were planning and policy updates; no procurement decisions or spending votes were reported.
