The Murray City Planning Commission met on October 15, 2026. Commissioners approved the September 17 meeting minutes, findings of fact and conclusions for the Point at 53rd subdivision amendment and Intermountain Health Cancer Center conditional use permit, and the commission’s 2027 meeting dates. The commission also unanimously approved a conditional use permit for D.L. Evans Bank to install a 40-square-foot electronic message center sign at 6150 South State Street, subject to 10 conditions, including that it be turned off from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. No spending, contract, or procurement decisions were identified.

The commission discussed—but took no action on—a draft land-use text amendment addressing yard setbacks for multifamily residential zones near single-family homes. The RM-zone development moratorium was due to expire October 18, and staff said applications filed during the pending-legislation period would be subject to the city council’s eventual decision. Commissioners requested additional information and visual examples on setbacks, landscaping, and buffering before further consideration at a future meeting.
