The City of Pflugerville Library Board met on October 14, 2026. The board unanimously approved the September minutes. Reports covered the Friends’ manga, comics, and collectibles sale, which raised just under $1,500, library usage and outreach, and upcoming events. The board discussed revisions to the library’s five-year plan, including aligning it with city plans, clarifying collection goals and state standards, and considering grant-seeking. Members were asked to provide feedback by October 21; the board expects to consider approval at a future meeting if a quorum is available.
The board also discussed the library’s reduced collection budget and the risk that continued reductions could affect state accreditation and access to discounted databases. Potential grants were raised as a way to supplement funding, but no grant applications or spending decisions were made. Landscaping concerns—including dead trees, low branches, and trees encroaching on parking spaces—were discussed without action; the director noted that mowing is covered by a city contract and that tree issues have been discussed with the city forester. No procurement activity, contract award, or purchasing approval was identified.
