📚 Education Grants & Funding

The Clinton City Schools Board of Education meeting was held October 15, 2026. The board approved the consent agenda and, by roll-call vote, the financial report. The report noted $73,000 in year-to-date general-purpose school fund revenue for August, with the usual $688,700 TISA payment delayed until September; federal-project expenditures were $49,000 for July and August combined, including $48,000 in August. School nutrition was nearly at break-even for August, with a projected year-end surplus of about $40,000. No contract awards, bids, or RFPs were considered.

The director reported that the district is establishing a scholarship-granting organization, with contributions expected to begin in January and scholarships for items such as tuition, textbooks, technology, and field trips anticipated from August 2027. The plan could allow an individual to receive a tax credit of up to $1,700 for a contribution, or $3,400 for joint filers; eligibility and distribution procedures are still being reviewed, and possible tuition changes may be discussed at a future board retreat. The district will also pay for training for a donated support dog at Clinton Elementary, while the caregivers will cover food, veterinary, and other care costs. The board also received North Clinton Elementary student-performance data and staff updates.
