The Novi Community School District Board of Education regular meeting on October 15, 2026, included several bond-funded capital and purchasing items. The board approved a $14.095 million GMP for the Novi High School Innovation Hub Phase One superstructure and approved student media technology upgrades; both are funded through the 2025 bond. It also approved an update to bond governance procedures addressing board review of multiple change orders. The proposed $13,497,248 GMP for Phase One of the high school Performing Arts Center, including subcontractor agreements, was presented for discussion and is scheduled to return for action at the next meeting. The district said the work will use bond funds, with construction expected to begin in January 2027. The board also approved August bills and check registers, purchase-card reports, and fall and overnight field trips through the consent agenda.

Other financial actions included accepting a $1,600 Novi Youth Assistance donation for students’ participation costs and approving a preschool-teacher wage reopener, described as funded almost entirely by the state GSRP grant. The board approved the ECEC curriculum, while clarifying that the vote was on the curriculum rather than its cost. In a financial update, administrators reported approximately $4.8 million in identified and implemented savings and said they will engage district stakeholders to review priorities and align ongoing expenditures with revenues. Public comments raised concerns about staffing, intervention services, and workload; the superintendent said the district would continue examining ways to support staff and address financial challenges.
