The Burlingame School District Board of Trustees meeting on October 13, 2026, included procurement and facilities updates alongside student programs and labor negotiations. The board approved the consent agenda 5–0, excluding a proposed licensed vocational nurse (LVN) position for separate discussion; after discussing the district’s need for additional nursing support and the planned assignment at Roosevelt, the board approved the position 5–0. Public comment addressed August vendor payments, including $1,512.50 to Lucid Partnerships, and questioned the scope and deliverables of a superintendent consulting contract cited as $44,825. Another commenter raised concerns about the technology-service items, including a $6,000 computer consultant contract and device controls. The comments also referenced a $1.77 million Apple student-device lease approved in June; it was not a new award at this meeting.
Staff presented maintenance and facilities funding, including Measure O bond projects, $11 million for school-facility matching, $1.2 million in solar tax credits received with another $400,000 expected, and fund balances of about $2.2 million for routine maintenance, $500,000 committed to emergency repairs, $1.2 million for deferred maintenance, and $4.2 million in developer fees, including $3.6 million designated for the Lincoln project. The board also held a first reading of the technology plan, with no vote; members requested more information on screen-time guidance, device security and home use, teacher input, and other districts’ approaches before considering approval in November or later. A proposal for security cameras at the middle school was raised in public comment but no action was recorded. The deferred-maintenance plan was presented as a voting item, but the transcript does not clearly capture its disposition.
