Tomball ISD Board of Trustees workshop meeting, September 14, 2026. The board reviewed the next day’s business agenda; no procurement or spending actions were taken at this workshop. Items scheduled for consideration included a $103,353.21 increase to Millennium Project Solutions’ contract for construction costs at Tomball High School and a recommendation to award CSP No. [number unclear in transcript] to ICI Construction for the new Tomball Intermediate School: $49,279,000 in construction costs, within a $59 million overall project budget funded by 2025 bonds. Trustees discussed the facility’s aging infrastructure, the bond-approved relocation, and ICI’s prior district work. The agenda also included a proposed total property tax rate of 1.0558, a reduction from the prior year, and certification of compliance with Senate Bill 12; these were not voted on at this workshop.
Administrators presented a proposed Tomball ISD Virtual Academy of Cyber Security, planned to open in 2027–28 as an early-college program with Sam Houston State University. The proposal would serve up to 60 virtual students, with priority for Tomball ISD applicants, and require procurement of certified virtual courseware estimated at $2,500 per student; administrators said a detailed budget would be provided. The district would seek board approval in October and compete for a JET grant to help cover overhead. Trustees asked for more detail on costs, student supports, staffing, and the program’s educational model; no approval was taken at this meeting.
