The Groton Representative Town Meeting held its regular meeting on October 14, 2026. The principal procurement-related action was approval, by a unanimous 34–0 vote, of Resolution 2026-768 accepting $27,319.60 through the State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program. The funding covers 80% of a $34,149.50 project to replace the Town’s antivirus software through a state cooperative purchasing agreement; the $6,829.90 Town match had already been spent in fiscal year 2025. The committee reported that the software was implemented in FY2025 and will continue as a recurring cost. No vendor or contract award was identified.

The Town Manager reported that the Town’s capital reserve stood at approximately $7.7 million as of June 30, 2026, with much of it committed to previously approved projects. A $156,240 recreational trails grant for accessibility improvements at Caw Park had been recommended for acceptance, and a proposed $100,000 transfer from the general fund contingency for Groton Heights services was expected to come before the RTM at a future meeting; neither was voted on at this meeting. Capital improvement requests were due October 26, with review for the next budget to follow. Other project updates included ongoing work at Southington Memorial Park and installation of solar trash compactors in parks.
