The City of Fort Worth Zoning Commission met on October 14, 2026, to consider zoning cases and a proposed zoning-text amendment. No procurement activity, contract awards, vendor selections, or spending approvals were identified. The commission denied requests for mini-warehouse/outdoor storage at 5100 AEL Avenue (11–0) and light-industrial zoning near Keller Hicks Road/Golden Triangle Boulevard for a proposed employment and manufacturing development (10–1), after hearing neighborhood concerns about compatibility, truck traffic, and residential impacts. Several other zoning requests were recommended for approval, including a city water-pumping station conditional use permit and outdoor tractor-trailer parking; the proposed Henderson Street development was approved with taxidermy shops excluded as a permitted use.
The commission continued the proposed batch-plant zoning-text amendment to its January meeting to allow more discussion with affected operators and stakeholders. The proposal would remove a conditional-use-overlay requirement in certain industrial districts and establish a 1,000-foot separation from residential or school uses; speakers raised concerns about impacts on existing facilities and suggested alternative distances or measurement methods. Another industrial-zoning request for outdoor storage on South Pipeline Road was continued to the next meeting for additional neighborhood outreach. Other cases—including a car wash, a restaurant, and development at Maverick Ranch—were recommended for approval.
