The City of Sacramento Planning and Design Commission meeting on June 13, 2024, covered development and land-use applications. The director reported that City Council had adopted the new fiscal-year budget and that planning staff resources had been reshuffled, but no procurement awards, contracts, bids, or specific spending allocations were discussed. The commission approved the consent calendar and staff recommendations for several applications: alcohol sales at the Market at the Mill (with tobacco sales not recommended), a conditional use permit for Capital Innovations Academy, and entitlements for the 200-room Gateway Oaks Hotel. It also approved the Alma Wine Bar and Shop, Guru Farms Market, and Gold Star Mart alcohol-related applications; the Guru Farms approval would replace its beer-and-wine license with a license allowing distilled spirits, rather than add a separate license.

The commission also upheld staff’s approval recommendation for American River One, a proposed four-tower residential project, rejecting a third-party appeal focused on environmental review and potential effects on the American River Parkway. Members discussed the project’s housing, design, transit access, and potential effects on parkway use and wildlife. All listed motions passed. No procurement activity was identified.
