The Walpole Conservation Commission met on October 14, 2026. The primary procurement-related action was unanimous approval of Royer’s quote for work on conservation land near Clark’s Pond: $2,500 to remove a dead ash tree and $1,000 for trimming branches over a garage; additional branches over the parking lot were to be handled at no charge. The total approved cost was $3,500, to be paid from the Conservation Trust Fund. The Commission also noted receipt of a little under $40,000 from Roger Turner’s estate for the conservation fund; acceptance requires action by the Select Board, and the chair had submitted a request for acceptance.
The Commission reviewed wetlands applications, including approving a negative determination for a proposed pool at 19 Delaney Drive with erosion-control and pool-water discharge conditions, and determining that the wetlands associated with an addition at 11 Comstock Way were subject to the local bylaw rather than state jurisdiction. Hearings for a commercial building proposal at 2160 Boston Providence Highway and a garage/enforcement matter at 16 Main Street were continued for further review of stream delineation and flood-storage impacts. Members discussed proposed stormwater regulation revisions intended to avoid duplicative reviews while retaining applicable stormwater standards; they agreed to proceed toward advertising a public hearing, with no formal vote recorded.
