Homewood BZA Meeting - October 1, 2026

The City of Homewood Board of Zoning Adjustments met on October 1, 2026. The board approved the prior meeting’s minutes and considered three zoning variance matters. It approved case BZA 260042 for a hotel sign plan, including the requested monument-sign allowance and a wall sign above the first floor, based on the materials and sign plan presented. The vote was unanimous. The board also unanimously approved case 2644 for a screened porch encroaching into a rear setback; the applicant said the project would reduce the property’s impervious area by shrinking the driveway.

The board approved a residential addition’s setback variances, including the requested side setbacks of 8.3 and 8.4 feet, by a 4–1 vote. Applicants were advised to obtain permits through the zoning department, with one year to act on the variances. No contracts, purchases, budget allocations, or other procurement activity were identified.
