The City of Corpus Christi Planning Commission meeting on October 14, 2026, addressed zoning and plat matters; no procurement activity, contract awards, or spending approvals were identified. Commissioners approved the rezoning request for 7,502 Yorktown Boulevard from the Farm Rural District to RS-6 and CN-1, allowing neighborhood commercial development along Yorktown and residential development at the rear. Staff confirmed that the planned collector-road connection remains on the Roadway Master Plan and would be required at platting. A separate plat item was withdrawn by the applicant pending a plat-waiver application and will return on a future agenda with a street-dedication request.
The commission tabled the request to rezone 14.87 acres at 1,402 Flour Bluff Drive from RS-6 to RM-2 for multifamily development until the November 11 meeting, to allow the developer and Navy to discuss the proposal. The Navy had formally objected, and commissioners and public commenters raised concerns about aircraft safety, development density, traffic, area-plan consistency, and infrastructure capacity; supporters cited the site’s location outside the ACUZ boundary, proposed roadway connections, and potential economic benefits. The tabling motion passed, with one opposing vote.
