Jurisdiction
State & Local
The City of Columbus Development Commission’s October 8, 2026 special meeting considered zoning and site-plan cases. In the first case, commissioners approved a request to rezone a site to Limited Manufacturing, allowing less-objectionable manufacturing uses, including truck parking, and addressing an active zoning violation. The proposal included restrictions and commitments for fencing, landscaping, and screening near residential areas; a related council variance will be considered separately by City Council.
The commission also approved an updated site plan for Z26-031, a proposed subdivision of up to 352 homes, while traffic-study, access-alignment, and right-of-way issues remained for the applicant and relevant agencies to resolve. For Z26-028 at 3701 Bryce Road, the commission considered a 146-home subdivision; approval was contingent on completion of the traffic impact study and resolution of Public Service comments. Applicants discussed potential traffic improvements, open-space amenities, trails, and a playground. No contract awards, purchasing decisions, budget allocations, or other procurement activity were identified.
