The Springs Municipal Advisory Council meeting on October 14, 2026, included presentations from Sonoma County Human Services and JobLink on anticipated CalFresh and Medi-Cal eligibility and renewal changes, outreach to affected residents, and employment and training support. County staff said the Board of Supervisors authorized three years of funding for 40 additional Human Services staff; JobLink also received authorization for a three-year unit focused on people facing work requirements. The council approved the September 9 minutes. No contract awards or procurement votes were taken by the council.
The council discussed a proposed Thanksgiving turkey distribution at Larson Park, tentatively set for November 21, and keeping the regular meeting on November 10. The Springs MAC has a $5,000 annual budget; members discussed a possible purchase of about 50 turkeys at an estimated $25 each ($1,250), along with seeking business and community donations and a food-bank partner. No spending decision was made. In supervisor updates, members were told the Board approved $20,000 for Springs Community Kitchen equipment, $5,000 for Sonoma Family Meal, $22,500 for immigrant support services, and a $49.5 million Aviation Boulevard purchase for a more resilient Emergency Operations Center, potentially opening in 2028.
