The WEA-TV 11 Operations and Governance Forum on October 13, 2026, reviewed Draft 3 of Worcester Public Schools’ district boundary and realignment report, prepared with Dellinger Research and Applied Data. The proposal addresses school enrollment and capacity, elementary-to-secondary pathways, pre-K placement, transportation, program access, and demographic equity. Possible changes include flex zones, a middle/high school boundary split affecting Francis McGrath, and phased facility and program adjustments; the report notes that making Greendale a PK–6 site would likely require a longer timeline, potentially closer to 2032. No contract award, purchasing decision, or procurement-related spending approval was identified.

Public commenters raised concerns about Greendale’s building conditions, accessibility, parking, playground and bus constraints; the distribution and communication of specialized programs; and the effects of proposed boundaries on students and communities, including Plumley Village. The presenters said the scenarios remain drafts and that feedback, transportation modeling, and implementation planning will continue. Additional public forums were scheduled, with a further draft anticipated before the School Committee considers a final vote in early December. The meeting adjourned by motion.
