The City of Indio Planning Commission met on October 14, 2026. The Commission recommended that the City Council approve the third amendment to the Citrus Ranch development and pre-annexation agreements, subject to the prospective buyer, Robson Inc. LLC, acquiring the property. The applicant said the amendment would direct $15 million in Community Facilities District (CFD) funds toward infrastructure for the project rather than leaving the allocation to the city’s discretion; the funds would come from the district, not city financing. The applicant also described unresolved power and sewer capacity challenges, including an estimated $74 million option for sewer service through CVWD, and said discussions with the City of Coachella may offer an alternative. The amendment does not itself change approved land uses or project design. The Commission’s motion to recommend approval carried; no procurement award or vendor selection was made.

The Commission also approved Tentative Tract Map 3904, dividing approximately three acres into 12 residential lots and two non-buildable parcels for a road and retention basin. The developer would build the road to city standards, with dedication and future city maintenance to be arranged before final map approval. In the director’s report, staff noted that the City Council had extended the data-center urgency ordinance moratorium through October 16, 2027, and that proposed regulations for event uses, short-term rentals, and noise had been continued. No purchasing or contracting action was identified.
