Cartwright School District #83’s regular governing board meeting and public hearing was held October 14, 2026. The public hearing reviewed the district’s voter-approved bond and override spending. Separately, the board voted to authorize legal counsel to pursue repayment of childcare discounts received by current and former board members; the stated invoices were $23,916.78 and $10,119.76. That motion passed 3–1. Public comments raised concerns about curriculum, software licenses, fine-arts funding, staffing, and consulting costs; district leaders discussed existing funding channels and budget constraints, including declining enrollment.
