The City of Prescott Tourism Advisory Committee meeting on October 14, 2026, included an update from Destination IQ on its tourism-marketing work under contract. The firm described onboarding, stakeholder outreach, Arizona tourism cooperative-marketing activities, initial advertising, and development of annual and five-year marketing plans. The Arizona co-op program offers approximately $100,000 worth of project participation, with the value of selected activities potentially exceeding that amount. Christmas City advertisements were withdrawn for revisions and were expected to resume within about a week; no new contract award or procurement vote was made. Members also discussed improving campaign measurement and targeting, and staff said a Datafy representative would be invited to a future meeting.
Staff discussed revising the TAC grant application, scoring, and archiving process, including investigating whether the city’s OpenGov platform could streamline applications, scoring, and follow-up; this remains under review. Downtown beautification work is expected to continue, but staff are consulting Finance about whether to extend the existing arrangement with Swept Away through an addendum or establish a new contract. Staff anticipate bringing the scope of work and contract structure to the committee in November. A separate $40,000 budget line was identified as unrelated to Swept Away, with more discussion deferred to next month. No procurement-related motions or contract approvals were recorded.
