At its October 14, 2026 business meeting, the Douglas County Board of Commissioners recognized the Finance Department’s 38th consecutive Government Finance Officers Association award for financial reporting. The board approved several procurement and service actions: an updated intergovernmental agreement for vending machines at county facilities; jail elevator No. 3 modernization work tied to the generator project; and a 10-year Axon Enterprises/Evidence.com agreement for evidence management. The Axon agreement was described as costing about $20,000 for the remainder of 2026, with annual costs rising to roughly $40,000–$42,000 and an eventual annual cap of $59,000. The board also approved a $3,300 increase to a parks contract with Broadband, another parks contract modification for campground areas, and a Roseburg Rotary Club license for its annual Festival of Lights at River Forks Park.

The board approved final acceptance of JRT Construction’s Tai Road bank repair project ($370,184) and VSSS International’s Tri-City slurry seal project ($177,175.90), along with intergovernmental agreements with the City of Canyonville for RV storage and disposal and for other public works services. It approved amending and reobligating Title III project funds, including funds that may be used to carry out approved community wildfire protection projects, and voted to support the Port of Coos Bay’s Homeland Security grant application for security cameras at the Reedsport Bridge. No grant award was made at this meeting. The board also approved the remaining agenda motions; some contract or invoice details were unclear in the transcript.
