The Putnam County Planning Commission met on October 14, 2026, to make advisory land-use recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC), which retains final authority. The commission recommended approval of case 26-00000011, a zoning-map amendment for 0.24 acres in San Mateo from Agriculture Estate to Commercial Neighborhood (C1), to match adjoining property. For case 26-00000012, the commission recommended denial of a request to rezone 2.03 acres at 200 Mission Road in Palatka from Commercial Professional Office to Commercial General (C3) for a plant nursery and landscaping business. Commissioners cited concerns that C3 zoning could permit more intensive uses than the applicant described and could set a precedent for the surrounding area; the BOCC will make the final decision.
The commission also recommended denial of Jackmac Properties LLC’s PUD amendment for an approximately 8.6-acre residential development at 100 Pilot House Court. Discussion focused on the proposed transfer of ownership, short-term rentals, and unresolved questions about the number and classification of existing dwelling units and consistency with the agricultural future-land-use density limit. No procurement, contract awards, or spending decisions were identified. The next meeting was announced for November 4, 2026.
