The Clark County Public Schools Board of Education held a special-called virtual meeting on October 13, 2026, and approved multiple procurement and change-order items for school roofing projects. The board authorized a DPO credit from Preferred Tire Recyclers (recorded as approximately $10,416) and a corresponding addition of $10,441.60 to Rising Sun Developing after the original material supplier’s warehouse fire required a supplier change. It also approved a $6,640 base-bid deduction from Rising Sun Developing for unsuitable soils and a $98,582 base-bid addition to Spray-Tech for replacement of saturated roof areas at RDC. Staff said the roof work was necessary to ensure a sound installation and warranty, and that less than $100,000 of the project’s roughly $500,000 in remaining contingency would be used for the addition.
For the Baker roof project, the board approved an $89,191.14 base-bid deduction from DNI General Contracting to fund added materials following a change from the planned top-hat system. Related DPO additions included $23,826.49 to Dimensional Metals and $65,365.65 to Mueller Roofing Distributors for clips and fasteners. Motions on the items were reported as passing, including several by 5–0 votes. No broader policy decisions were identified; the actions concerned project-specific construction changes and funding reallocations.
