The City of San Ramon Parks & Community Services Commission meeting on October 14, 2026, recognized recreation staff and aquatics personnel, approved the September 9 minutes 6–0 with one abstention, and voted 7–0 to recommend Ellie Manu for appointment as an alternate to the Arts Advisory Committee. Total Aquatic Management (TAM), the City’s aquatics auditing and training partner for more than 18 years, presented an outstanding aquatics award after a perfect audit in August. No new contract award or purchasing decision was made by the commission. The director also reported that Bartlett Pear Park construction is progressing through a contractor punch list, with opening anticipated early next year.

Commissioners discussed the development of a financial sustainability and cost-recovery policy, considering how service categories should guide future program pricing and taxpayer subsidies; staff will continue developing the policy and return with it for further review. In a report on the prior night’s City Council meeting, a commissioner said the Council approved a 10-year contract with a vendor identified in the transcript as Axion/Axiom for tasers, drones, and video services, valued at $4.1 million and described as saving $2.7 million. That contract was reported for context and was not an action taken at this commission meeting.
