2/1/2024 Government Services Committee Meeting

The Racine County Government Services Committee met on February 1, 2024. Members approved the prior meeting’s minutes with no opposition. The committee received an update on the Youth and Governance program: 33 applications had been received, and committee members were asked to return application scores by February 9 at noon. Members discussed whether to interview all applicants and planned for interviews on February 21, with a possible 5:30 p.m. start pending review of the Finance Committee schedule. Upcoming program dates include an April 9 orientation and a May 14 mentor-mentee orientation.

The committee also discussed whether applicants who are not selected could still participate in Youth and Governance activities, such as the bus tour. No decision was made; youth representatives were asked to gather feedback and bring ideas to a future meeting. The meeting adjourned following a motion.
