The FMS Board of Education met on October 13, 2026. A San Juan College representative presented information about proposed November bond measures; the presentation was informational, with no board vote. The local bond would fund several college projects, including $700,000 for recreational courts and an approximately $5.66 million water and sewer system replacement, along with renovations and upgrades to nursing, fine arts, and workforce-training facilities. A statewide higher-education bond could provide the remaining 75% of funding for the infrastructure project, and a statewide library bond could provide nearly $180,000 for library materials. The presenter said approval would not increase property tax rates. The district also announced a planned 4,000-square-foot carpentry facility at its Career and Technical Center, expected to open in fall 2027; no project cost or purchasing action was stated.

The board approved an educational field trip to Canyon de Chelly, with transportation and the tour covered through program funding, and approved the Farmington High School FFA team’s trip to the National FFA Convention. The FFA trip is supported by a $2,000 National FFA grant, the school activities fund, and other funding sources. The board also approved the EVHS softball team’s trip to a Tennessee tournament, which the coach said was fully funded by the booster club. The board approved policy K-0950 on admission of transfer students and discussed proposed limits on elementary students’ individual device use, but requested community and teacher input before moving forward. No district contract awards, RFPs, vendor selections, or bid approvals were identified.
