San Marino Unified School District Board of Education open session, October 13, 2026. The board received an update on Measure M bond work: Carver’s playground was about 90% complete, Valentine’s playground work was nearing completion, and portable buildings had been installed at the high school. The district and its bond program management team reported that the master-plan project budget was above $200 million and that they were reviewing costs and value-engineering projects. At Huntington Middle School, a drainage project was in design and preparing to go out to bid; roofing work was also moving forward on three prioritized buildings. The district described its Garland Dryzone arrangement for rapid roof-leak response. No contract award was made during the meeting.

The board approved the 2025–26 developer-fee accountability report, which reported $337,761.85 collected, and the parcel-tax accountability reports, which documented $1,721,780.77 in Measure R funding and $4,488,100.22 in Measure E funding, primarily used for staff salaries. The superintendent said a proposed Measure SMS parcel-tax measure would combine the existing taxes without increasing the amount, reducing the frequency and cost of elections. The board also approved a resolution supporting Red Ribbon Week, adopted the second reading of its homework policy, and unanimously approved a closed-session settlement agreement; no settlement amount was stated.
