At the October 13, 2026 Hillsboro School District School Board meeting, staff presented updates on Hillsboro High School’s International Baccalaureate program and districtwide equity and restorative-practices work; no related contract awards or purchasing approvals were identified. The main capital-funding discussion concerned the district’s November 3 bond measure. The presentation described proposed safety and security improvements, repairs or replacement of aging building systems and equipment, and career- and college-learning spaces across district schools. If approved, the bond could unlock $6.1 million in state matching funds and would require a community oversight committee; the presentation stated that bond proceeds cannot fund salaries or daily operations. Board members discussed outreach and volunteer support for the campaign, but no bond-related board vote was recorded.
The board also discussed draft legislative priorities, including adequate state school funding, relief for rising PERS costs, and additional support for special education, as well as proposed board goals focused on follow-up and advocacy. These were discussions and requests for further refinement rather than adopted spending or procurement actions. The IB presentation noted ongoing district costs for program training and exam fees, but no new allocation or purchasing decision was made.
