The Jordan School District Board of Education held a study session and business meeting on October 13, 2026. The board unanimously approved bids for a Career and Technical Education strategic-planning, workforce-alignment, and innovation-center study, funded with $154,000 from the district’s $258,000 Apex planning grant, and for security window film and installation, a project costing more than $700,000 and supported in part by a state grant of just under $775,000. The board also unanimously approved a bid for a network-security firewall at JATC South; no amount or vendor was stated for either security bid. The board approved revisions to administrative policy AA408 on fees, with minor wording adjustments, and unanimously approved a property trade involving district property near Mountain View Corridor and property/buildings by Elkridge Middle School and the Jordan Learning Center, with additional cash to the district; the car wash was excluded from the buildings transferred. Members discussed property-management responsibilities and potential operating costs if the district assumes landlord duties.
The board unanimously referred three schools on the potential action list to the facilities committee. It also voted 6–1 to assign the committee to examine the boundary proposal’s effects on nearby middle schools and consider related alternatives. The superintendent reported that the district is continuing work on a vape-detector pilot and may expand it to middle schools using proceeds from the Juul settlement, but no purchase was approved. Other business included enrollment forecasts and boundary feedback; a proposed athletics and coaching audit that may include student fees; and postponing votes on several board-level policy revisions. The transcript identifies no vendors or contract numbers.
