The City of Fernley Planning Commission meeting on October 15, 2026, addressed development approvals and land-use matters; no competitive procurement, vendor selection, or purchasing activity was identified. Commissioners voted 7–0 to recommend City Council approval of Bill 393, a development agreement with Wedge Meadow Homes LLC extending the Wilson Landing subdivision map deadline from November 13, 2026, to December 31, 2028. The extension allows additional time to record the final map for the 37-lot subdivision. A commissioner raised concerns about dust from the site and requested monitoring and watering, while staff reported infrastructure work had begun.
The Commission continued discussion of a proposed 51.1-acre mixed-use development to November 10, allowing public comment; residents raised questions about project scale, traffic, crime, and water supply. The Commission also took public comment on a proposed 324-megawatt natural-gas power plant without proceeding to a presentation or action. Staff reported that City Council had approved the Victory Logistics power plant on October 7 and noted that a data-center development-code update was being prepared for a future workshop or open house. Three commissioners announced their resignations amid concerns about the Commission’s role in the development review process.
