The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors meeting on October 6, 2026, included a workshop on potential amendments to the Affordable Housing Ordinance. Supervisors discussed affordable-housing fees and how they are indexed, inclusionary requirements, land dedication, and the owner-builder exemption. The Board generally did not favor increasing the current fee at this stage; members also expressed interest in examining other development costs and alternatives, without clear support for a mandatory 50/50 land-and-fee split or a new inclusionary requirement. Members broadly supported further work on an owner-builder exemption cap of 3,000 square feet and a five-year residency requirement. No final ordinance decision or procurement action was recorded; staff is expected to continue analysis and return with options.
On the consent calendar, the Board approved a $219 retroactive payment to Wills on Dental Lab Inc. for Adult Correctional Services; Finance said current rules require Board approval for such payments, and staff may review the relevant guidelines. The consent calendar passed 5–0. In its annual meeting as the Sacramento County Tobacco Securitization Corporation, the Board also approved the prior meeting minutes and FY 2026–27 budget and received and filed the prior-year audit; staff reported no significant budget changes, and the item passed 5–0. No contract awards, RFPs, or major purchasing decisions were identified.
