The City of Eau Claire Plan Commission met on August 18, 2025. The main procurement- and capital-planning discussion concerned the Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (CORP) and McDanna Park pickleball courts. Speakers requested $190,000 for reconstruction of six older courts and resurfacing of six newer courts, noting the draft plan had no funding scheduled before 2030. The commission voted 7–0 to amend the CORP to include the $190,000 improvement, then unanimously approved the amended plan. City staff supported adding the project, explaining that inclusion in the CORP can help make it eligible for grant funding and that funds for sports courts may also be considered through the capital improvement process. No contract award or specific funding appropriation was made at this meeting.

The CORP presentation also identified aging park infrastructure, maintenance staffing constraints, and community priorities such as trails, seating, restrooms, and playground upgrades. The commission considered several land-use and site-plan matters, including a rehabilitation hospital and hotel, but these were development approvals rather than procurement decisions. The consent agenda was approved, and a conditional-use permit for a large detached garage was denied. No vendor selection, RFP, or purchasing action was identified.
