The City of Eau Claire Plan Commission met on August 3, 2026, to consider plats, excess city land, land development ordinance amendments, conditional-use permits, annexation, and an industrial site plan. No city procurement, contract awards, or purchasing decisions were identified. The Commission approved the Orchard Hills First Addition final plat subject to compliance with the land development ordinance’s tree-preservation requirements, and approved the remaining consent items. It divided the excess-land item: two parcels were approved for excess-land designation, while consideration of two parcels in the well-field area was tabled until August 31 for further discussion with Parks, Waterways, and Urban Forestry. The Commission also approved citywide land development ordinance amendments, including clarifications and changes affecting small-scale commercial and live-work uses, building frontage, and landscaping requirements for smaller parking lots.
The Commission approved a conditional-use permit for heavy-truck parking at 3014 Seymour Road, requiring screening that meets the ordinance standard, with staff to work with the applicant on implementation. It recommended approval of the East Hamilton annexation to City Council. It also approved the site plan for Olli America’s proposed industrial facility at 6120 Venture Drive, including a four-year deadline for the temporary gravel parking/access area to be removed or improved as required, and removed a condition that staff said was no longer required under the amended code. The plan concerns a 68.7-acre property and an approximately 13,000-square-foot building; future phases remain subject to later review.
