The City of Eau Claire Plan Commission met on June 16, 2025. The consent agenda, including the June 2 minutes and a permanent easement with Eau Claire County for Lowe’s Creek, was approved. Commissioners denied a conditional-use request for an additional 273-square-foot illuminated church sign at 3906 Kain Road, citing concerns about its size and whether alternatives had been explored. They approved a garage addition exceeding accessory-use size limits and site plans for Oakwood Flats (41 apartments), a condominium development at 1917 Black Avenue, and a 96-unit phase of the Prairie West development. The site-plan approvals included parking allowances above standard limits and conditions covering items such as bicycle parking, lighting, drainage, landscaping, and screening.

The commission also discussed the placement of recreation space and screening for Prairie West, and staff announced that a vote on the new land development ordinance was expected at the June 30 meeting. No contract awards, vendor selections, or public purchasing decisions were identified; the approvals concerned private development proposals and land-use matters.
